Obituary

Cornelia Ann Higgs Kibler, age 89, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Consulate Healthcare of Woodstock. A memorial service for Mrs. Kibler will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toms Brook, VA with Rev. Deanna Boynton officiating. Burial will follow in Toms Brook Cemetery. She was born in Strasburg, VA on December 16, 1925 a daughter of the late Cletus Arthur and Roberta Beeler Higgs. Ann married Elvin W. Kibler on June 4, 1960, he preceded her in death on May 24, 2006. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Patricia Higgs. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Toms Brook where she reactivated the junior choir, and was superintendant of the nursery and primary department. She was also a past Worthy Matron of Spurmont #64 of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a college graduate in accounting and was an accountant for approximately 60 years. She was always in historical activities. She was Chairman of the Shenandoah County Bicentennial for the Town of Toms Brook in 1972 and again for Toms Brook in 1976 for the National Bicentennial, she also served on the committee for Shenandoah County that year as well. Toms Brook was the smallest town in the United States to have recognition. She is survived by a sister, Reba Higgs Bryant of Strasburg; special first cousins, Mrs. & Mrs. Bennie Beeler, Nile Beeler, Laura Ellen Wade and Husband, Wm. Bill; nephews, Nelson S. Kibler and wife, Peggy of Great Falls, VA, W. Daniel Kibler and wife, Donna of Murrells Inlet, SC, Richard Kibler of Mt Airy, MD, Charles Kibler and wife, Lisa of Concord, NC; nieces, Gwen Pompey and husband, Charles of Falls, PA, Cindy Kibler and husband, Kevin Carter of GA; sister-in-law, Mrs. Shirley Kibler of Tunkhannock, PA; and a very special family, Andrew and Teresa Orndorff family. Honorary pallbearers will be Philip Fauber, Andrew Orndorff, Jeremy Fauber, Richard Funkhouser, Randy Richman, Dennis Fauber and Kevin Fauber. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, P.O.
