Charles Richard Hurdle, Sr. 89 of Strasburg, VA passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Lynn Care of Front Royal, VA.

A funeral mass of Christian burial for Mr. Hurdle will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2023, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church with Rev. Augustine Tran officiating. Mr. Hurdle will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Winchester, VA.

Mr. Hurdle was born in Washington DC on August 26, 1933, a son of the late William Gordon and Nealye Lavenia Taylor Hurdle.  He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and worked as an Engineer for the U.S. Government.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, David Wayne Turner, and Daniel Wade Turner; three siblings, Betty May Ashton, James Franklin Hurdle, and Delores Elenore Govan.

Survivors include his wife Frances Audrey Brown Hurdle; his children Lynda Marie Neese, Christina Ann Brannan, Charles Richard Hurdle, Jr. and Teresa Lynn Haddad; grandchildren Nicole Clinedinst, Jessica Renee Hurdle, Ryan Harrison, Brandon David Turner, Brian Anthony Schmidt, Justin Weintraut, Tristin Elijah Turner, Daniel Wade, Jr., Jennifer Haun, and Tara Brianna Turner; great grandchildren Kelly Rachal Woods, Charles Alvin Hurdle, Bentley Haun, and Eve Catherine Clinedinst; one sister Evonne Marie Beatty along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
