Obituary

Catherine Root Radi, 83, of Middletown, VA passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

Catherine was born in Bronx, NY on February 25, 1942, a daughter of the late John Longmore and Pauline Root Sharpe.  She served as the secretary of the Somers Fire District and was the first female president of the Westchester County Association of Fire Districts. Catherine also volunteered in the public school system for many years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Constantino Radi.

Survivors include her children Richard C. Radi, Jr. (Deborah) of Amawalk, NY, John Radi of Joliet, IL, and Karen Radi of Lincolndale, NY; her grandchildren Michelle Radi-Jordan (Brendan) and Richard M. Radi along with one sister Virginia Radi of Port Orange, FL.

A funeral service for Mrs. Radi will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2025, at Stover Funeral Home.  Mrs. Radi will be laid to rest privately.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday one hour prior to the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard C. Radi, Jr., Richard M. Radi, Michelle Radi-Jordan, Brendan Jordan, Patrick Mulligan and John Jewell.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
