Boyd Payne “Peanut” Troxell, 87, of Strasburg, VA passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Citizen Care & Rehabilitation Center, Frederick, MD.

Mr. Troxell was born in Staunton, VA on December 15, 2026, a son of the late James Sylvester and Edna Catherine Pryor Troxell. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA. Mr. Troxell worked as a self-employed drywall contractor and was the husband of the late Paula Louise Lam Troxell. In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by six siblings Helen Mitchell, James Troxell, Shirley Giles, Jeannie Reil, Linda Drummonds, and Jackie Troxell.

Survivors include his daughter Stacy Troxell; stepsons Travis Pangle and Chad Pangle; one grandchild Allyson; his brother Jerry Troxell; two special nieces Cathy Troxell Orndorff and Brenda St Amand along with numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service for Mr. Troxell will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2026, at Riverview Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Funkhouser officiating. Military honors will be given by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA.
