Betty Louis Souder Spittle 95, most recently of Woodstock, VA, left this world December 26th, 2022.

She, being a woman of her word, made it to the final family reunion this year at the age of 95.  She enjoyed one last Christmas with family, and then was called home; where she will join her husband Bill whom she had lived without for 35 years.  She was a strong mother, loving grandmother, and all-around positive influence on those she cared for most.  Her straightforward honesty didn't always convey this love in the way many desired, but it did create a resilient bunch.  She was an excellent basketball player, skilled seamstress, avid reader, queen of grammar, but most of all she was an example of practical compassion.  We all learned our love of service from her; and our understanding of personal responsibility.  She was well loved, and loved well, and will be missed by many.

A funeral service for Mrs. Spittle will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Front Royal Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7145 Browntown Road, Front Royal, VA.

An internment service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Rd, Brentwood, MD.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ or a charity of your choice.
