IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Ann
Orndorff
November 17, 1947 – April 9, 2021
Betty Ann Smith Orndorff, age 74, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service for Betty will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Nesselrodt officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens.
Betty was born in Winchester, VA on November 17, 1946 a daughter of the late Dayton William and Lena Louise Grandstaff Smith. She was a longtime member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. Betty was known for frequently getting peoples name wrong and popping up with the most humorous things out of the blue, but she was known to many as one of the most kindhearted, generous, loving, and gentle souls ever. She created a gathering place for family and friends, second home for most. Betty was the "MeMaw" to all, with the perfect combination of laughter and love. She always looked over faults, praised for successes and encouraged dreams. Betty loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert Smith.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Vaughn Orndorff, who was the love of her life and her devoted caretaker for the past ten years; her beloved children, Rachel Clark (James), and Cindy Salcedo (Alberto); her grandchildren, Satasha Semones, Samantha Prather, Tanner Orndorff, Kaylee Christy, Hannah McDonald, Alexis McDonald, and Olivia Peer; five great-grandchildren; her siblings, William Smith (Carol) and Debbie Smith along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Tanner Orndorff, James Clark, Chad Sager, James Prather, Larry Lindsay and Lucas Semones.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, 12180 Back Road, Toms Brook, VA 22660.
