Betty LeVerne Hartzell, 62, of Strasburg, VA, passed away on April 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband of 30 years and her four children.

A funeral service for Betty will be Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Stover Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Funkhouser officiating.   There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Betty was born April 25, 1961, in Okinawa, Japan; the daughter of the late Teruko Goshi Harris and James Harris.

Betty is survived by her husband Jeff Hartzell of Strasburg, VA; her children Christina Harmon (Tillman) of Front Royal, VA, James McGowan of Pittsburgh, PA, Brandi McGowan of Pittsburgh, PA, Brooke Hartzell (Mike Jones) of Knox, PA; her grandchildren Gavin Hartzell, Gracie Hartzell, Helen Hartzell, Brady Jones of Knox, PA, Brayden Harmon of Front Royal, VA; a sister Brenda Hipsley (David) of North Beach, MD; two nephews Kyle and Everett and her best friend River her dog.

Betty was dedicated to her career at Sager Real Estate and made lifelong friends that remained by her side until the end.

Betty valiantly battled cancer for 71 days with the courage, strength, and grace that inspired all who knew her.

As she left this world, we find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with the calming rhythm of the sea.   Rest in peace, dear Betty.
