Barbara Lee Golden Lyon, 85, of Strasburg, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Spring Arbor Senior Living of Winchester.

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Lyon is being planned for a later date to be determined.

She was born October 10, 1937, in Nanjemoy, Md., daughter of the late Richard M. and Mamie E. Mills Golden.  She retired from the Federal Government for over 20 years and traveled around the country with her late husband, Gary Lyon.  She was an active member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, landscaping, and sitting on her patio.  She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Gary K. Lyon, Sr.; her brothers, Richard C. Golden and Walter M. Golden; and her sisters, Mildred G. Marshall, and Mamie Katherine Rowens.

She is survived by her son, Gary K. Lyon, Jr. of Winchester, VA; her daughter, Cynthia Lyon of Manteo, NC; three granddaughters, Jennifer Miller, Natalie Baker, and Jacqueline Gross; and three great grandchildren, Blake, Karsyn, and Wesley.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Blue Ridge Hospice, The Shriner's Hospital, and/or to The Alzheimer's Association.
