Audrey M. Veno

Audrey Margarette Pierce Veno, age 87, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the home of her daughter Mollie in Front Royal, VA.

A funeral service for Mrs. Veno will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Craver officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.  You may view the service live at the following link https://boxcast.tv/view/audrey-veno-service-253818

Mrs. Veno was born in Clarke County, VA on December 7, 1933 the only daughter of John Thomas Yowell and Mattie Virginia Pierce.  She was a member of the Strasburg Women Moose Lodge 1319 and the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77 Ladies Auxiliary.  She worked as a caregiver for many years and enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren over the years.  She loved the Route 11 Yard Crawl and enjoyed talking to everyone who stopped by her place and bought her peaches.  She loved auctions and buying lamps, and crocheting things for her grandchildren. In her younger days she loved to hunt.  Mrs. Veno took pride in making sure flags were placed on veterans graves throughout the community.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Michael Veno; two children, Eddie Presgraves and John "Mickey" Veno, II and her longtime companion Clarence "CD" Nokes.

Survivors include her beloved children, Teddy Presgraves and wife Freida of Attalla, Alabama, Vicki Smith and husband Mickey of Front Royal, VA, Melodie Vann and husband Jim of Maurertown, VA, Lorrie Crabill and longtime companion Jimmy Clem of Toms Brook, VA, and Mollie Renninger and husband Dawayne of Front Royal, VA; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild along with her dog Romeo.

Pallbearers will be Jay Chandler, Kris Crabill, Scott Crabill, Brian Crabill, Brent Coffman and Cody Brill,

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.
