Allen Middleton Stead 81 of Woodstock, VA passed away on Monday January 10, 2022, at his residence.

A funeral service for Mr. Stead will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Tucker officiating.

Mr. Stead was born in Linden, VA on October 10, 1940, a son of the late Aubrey Lee and Naomi Catherine Middleton Stead.  Mr. Stead was a member of the Round Hill Church of the Brethren and retired from Hazel Construction Company.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings John Lee Stead, Aubrey Irvin Stead, Harry Franklin Stead and Stella Louise Stead.

Survivors include his wife Sandra Stead of Woodstock, VA; his children Marie Catherine Campbell (Terry) of Woodstock, VA, Donna Rae Najera (Jaime Najera-Huerta) of Edinburg, VA, Edward Allen Stead (Doris) of Strasburg, VA and Michael Wayne Stead (Sherri) of Toms Brook, VA; his stepchildren Jackie Lee Gordon, Jr., Johnny Allen Gordon, Robert Eugene Gordon, Jeff Wilkins, Randy Wilkins, Terry Wilkins, Lisa Hood, Kimberly Wilkins; his siblings James Ernest Stead, Vernon Harrison Stead and Roger Wayne Stead along with a step grandson who he helped raise Aaron Gordon.

Pallbearers will be Cody Stead, Jason Wilkins, Josh Wilkins, Chris Rhoades, David VanAnden, and Jaimes VanAnden.   Geoffrey VanAnden will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
