Alex Monroe Golliday 74, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral service for Mr. Golliday will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Sonya Williams-Giersch officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA.
Mr. Golliday was born in Winchester, VA on November 11, 1946, a son of the late Marshall Keller and Freda Mae Sours Golliday. Mr. Golliday retired from O'Sullivan Film in Winchester, VA having worked 33 years and then worked for Khols Distribution Center for 11 years. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved riding his Harley, bike trail riding, and attending car and truck shows with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jerry L. Golliday.
Survivors include his loving wife Hattie Feathers Golliday of Strasburg, VA; his two beloved daughters Crystal A. Morris (Randy) and Lora L. Gonzales (Richard) both of Georgia; his grandchildren Alexander C. Gonzales, Nicholas K. Gonzales, Hallie E. Morris, and Harrison K. Gonzales; his siblings Larry S. Golliday (Bonnie) of Stephens City, VA, Keith A. Golliday (Janie) of Gerrardstown, WV, Kelly W. Golliday of Clear Brook, VA along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. Monday evening.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601 or St. Paul Lutheran Church, 193 W. Washington Street, Strasburg, VA 22657.
