Dorsey Allen Funk

Dorsey Allen Funk, 90, of Middletown, VA left this world to be with his Lord and savior on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his home in Middletown.

Mr. Funk was born in Rio, West Virginia on April 3, 1933, a son of the late George Henry and Freda Mae Conard Funk.  He attended Meadow Mills Church of the Brethren, a retired Postmaster and farmer.  Mr. Funk was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a medic and was a past President of the Middletown Lions Club.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Bethel Louise Neff Funk; a son Steven Wayne Funk and siblings Aubrey Funk, Vernie Louise Pyles, and Frances Della Irene Carlson.  Mr. Funk will be forever remembered and forever missed. 

Survivors include his children Joan Funk (Ken Post), Dan Funk (Bev), and Teresa Harris (Mike); six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Maria Woodward and Teresa Brown for their love and compassion in taking care of their father. 

A celebration of life for Mr. Funk will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Meadow Mills Church of the Brethren with Pastor Fred Mauck and Associate Pastor Bill McHenry officiating.  Mr. Funk will be laid to rest privately at Panorama Memorial Gardens at a later date.
